Alisa graduated from Barry University in Miami and started her career in retail. Over the last 12 years, Alisa has been working in the senior living industry and has found the career transition very rewarding. In her free time, Alisa is an avid runner and swimmer, but especially loves spending time with her grandkids.
Angela Ameling, moved to Vero Beach, Florida from Honolulu, Hawaii in December 2019 with her husband Ryan. She has more than 5 years of experience in the senior living industry both as an Activities Director and a Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that, she held a career focused in non-profit museums and cultural institutions. She holds a Masters’s Degree from George Washington University and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. Angela enjoys knitting and crocheting in her spare time as well as spending time with her pet rabbit.
Senior Lifestyle Counselor
Jamie Sandidge has worked in the senior living industry over the last five years, working as a sales director at two out of market communities. Prior to that, Jamie worked in in media (television, radio) and promoted New York State’s largest Canadian tourism campaign. Originally from the Buckeye State of Ohio, Jamie raised her two kids in Rochester, New York for almost 20 years. She enjoys she enjoys biking, needlepointing and passionate about seniors and helping families find the right home for their loved-ones.

Executive Chef, Jerry Rodriguez has more than 25 years of experience in the culinary industry. One of the most prestigious affiliations was when he worked with the Ritz Carlton/Marriott family. He is diverse in the types of cuisines he can prepare including Italian, classic French, Indian, Asian and Mediterranean. He has had the fortune to work with talented Chefs from all over the world to enhance his craft. The culinary industry has not just been a job for him, but a life experience that seasons his creativity. Jerry loves taking in the Florida sun by driving his Jeep with the top off, and going to the beach. He also loves spending time with his dog Harley.
Director of Celebrations
Director of Celebrations, Lynette Gerbounka, started her career at Holiday in 2017 as a receptionist and moved into the Resident Experience Coordinator role in September, 2021. Lynette is originally from New Jersey but has called Florida home since 2017. She is a proud mother of John Michael, who earned a full ride scholarship for a digital arts degree. She also likes collecting seashells and shark teeth on the beach and making our Isles residents smile.
Director of Health and Wellness
Alexis Franklin is a Vero Beach Native. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse and has worked in the healthcare Industry for 9 years. Work experience Vast from local hospitals, group homes, and rehab facilities throughout Indian River County. She studied at Indian River State College and Treasure Coast Technical College where she received her LPN License. When not working in this demanding but rewarding field. She is Fishing, Kayaking and Having Game nights with her Children. Alexis enjoys Working in the geriatric field of nursing ensuring Patient/ Resident Do not go without care.
Director of Facility Operations
Frank Nesbit is a lifelong resident of Vero Beach. Frank has an extensive background in the trades- from being a Florida Certified Pest Control Operator to owning his own construction company. Frank is very excited to combine his vast array of talents to make Discovery Village of Vero Beach an exquisite place to live.
Senior Lifestyle Counselor, Elizabeth “Ashley” Monplaisir, is the Business Office Manager here at Discovery Village Vero Beach. Elizabeth brings over 10 years of administrative experience in Office Management, Human Resources, and Accounting. She has worked in senior communities in many different roles. She assists in the development and implementation of firm policies and procedures; manages and oversees the administration of HR policies, programs. She maintains accounts payable, receivables and monthly billing. Elizabeth graduated from Sebastian River High school in 2006. Elizabeth completed the Licensed Practical Nurses program Indian River State College (IRSC) in 2010. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with fiancé and children.
Denise Bloomfield, Resident Experience Coordinator, has worked at Discovery Village Vero Beach since 2007. She was a housekeeper for 10 years before transferring to the Activities department. She found her passion for working with seniors as a 15-year-old volunteer in nursing homes. She has 21 years of experience as a caregiver. She earned a certificate as a Certified Patient Care Assistant from the Indian River Community College. Denise enjoys working with seniors and receives joy and satisfaction by caring for the elderly. She is also passionate about her family, church, and local mission.
