My experiences at Discovery Village Vero Beach have been exceptionally good! I was very concerned during the middle of the pandemic to allow my mother to move to Assisted Living, but the community has done a wonderful job on safety. That was my only concern after my first visit to Discovery Village. We were greeted by Meredith and from the second we met her we felt “at home.” She answered all of our questions, took us on a tour, and provided lunch as a sample of the chef’s meals. Meredith still asks about how my mom is doing every time I see her. I am at Discovery Village everyday about 5 hours to visit my mom.
The Director of Nursing keeps my mom on track with constant observation and conferences with the Nurse Practitioner. She never has to leave the building for all of her medical care except for dental visits. He handles everything so timely! Any concern is handled by the end of the day.
The entire office team is so friendly and works hard to keep everything going in the building. They work together and help each other. I see a true TEAM EFFORT in the building.
The community is beautiful…newly renovated and SO clean! It is bright and cheery when you first enter the building and the dining room setup looks like fine dining. The food is very good and I wish I had some of their recipes! I am always greeted with a smiling face from the concierge. Signing in is super easy.
The Maintenance team is remarkable. Repairs are handled quickly. They are so friendly to the residents when they enter the room.
The Supervisor of Housekeeping is efficient and does an excellent job of maintaining cleanliness in the rooms. She is a “ray of sunshine” when she enters the room.
I have to brag on the wonderful Nursing Assistants who are in constant contact with my mother! They are so good to her and I truly appreciate every little thing that they do to make my mom’s day a happy day. They work very hard and pay attention to details. That is important especially in the administering of medications. I have confidence in their ability to care for my mom and her many needs. I know they are smiling under their mask.
My mother does not attend any of the activities due to her health condition but I have been to some of them and they do a wonderful job on keeping the residents entertained. Holidays are always handled in an extra special way. Veterans are especially honored in the building. The residents are happy and content when I visit with them on the front porch in the rocking chairs. There are so many smiles when the bus pulls up to take them to Target, the mall, etc. I know the community provides transportation to doctor appointments also. My mom is not a swimmer but there is a beautiful pool! The art room is stocked well and a fun place for them to gather. I was so glad to see they offer Bible Study and church services at Discovery Village.
I feel confident with the care my mother receives from everyone in the building. It is a safe, healthy, happy place to be!
