My mom has been in memory care at Discovery Village for 6 years now. We are very happy with the care she has received. If there is any incident large or small I get a phone call from a reassuring staff member. The director of memory care Regina Trent is wonderful. She treats the residents with respect and compassion like her own family.

The independent living apartments are so nice and this is such a great community for my elderly mother. They have so many wonderful activities and clubs that my mom has something fun to do every week. They have had awesome outings like a tour of RVA murals, trips to the VMFA for special exhibits, and group lunches at various local restaurants. The staff have been so long to my mom and are very responsive when I had questions. This truly was the best choice for my mom and I highly recommend this place!

Caregivers in memory care are very loving and compassionate, always quick to respond to residents needs. Such a refreshing change from previous communities. Activity team does a great job of keeping residents engaged and entertained and house keepers do a great job of staying on top of keeping residents rooms clean. Highly recommend!!

My mom has been there a year and really enjoys it. The apartments are great with plenty of room. The staff is very helpful and friendly. There are good activities too.

I became a resident of Discovery Village at the West End in April, 2017. I moved from southwest Virginia (Radford) to be close to several of my children after my husband passed away. I moved into a spacious apartment with a balcony on the third floor. I immediately felt welcome. Residents and employees are very friendly and caring. I like the fact that the building has only 100 + apartments, so I have gotten to know almost everyone. We are a close-knit group. We help each other. Many of us serve on committees. There are a variety of activities scheduled monthly including worship times, a movie theater, library, many games and hobby times, trips off campus, cooking demonstrations, book and poetry clubs, a lovely Dining Room, an Exercise Room, and a large meeting room with a bar, excellent for parties, socials, meetings, and performances. We also have transportation available to take us to appointments and shopping. We have maintenance men ready to repair, etc. We have a Physical Therapist and others who lead exercises, Speakers come regularly to broaden our knowledge.Exercise Room

I have been here almost a year and could not be more pleased with being here. I have been a widow for 15 years living alone in a big house. I have made new friends a nd it is great to have people to eat with. There are many activities and trips. I take advantage of these things. The staff is helpful and very friendly. I am happy with my apartment and enjoy sitting on my patio. I am on the first floor and have a gate so it is nice to be able to go out that way. I highly recommend Discoverly Village.

My family is very pleased with the care my Dad received in memory care at Discovery Village. The administration, nurses, and aids were all kind and compassionate. They treated my dad and other residents with dignity and respect. They also provided a lot of support to my family. We got many caring hugs from staff during difficult moments. Thank you all for taking such good care of my Dad.

My mom has been a resident in Discovery Village’s Memory Care unit since June and we could not be happier with the care she receives. They treat her with kindness and dignity and we are so completely grateful for that! We spend quite a bit of time there visiting my mom and I have watched them care for ALL of the residents with kindness and dignity. It is evident that they have a passion for what they do. They strive to learn as much as they can about their patients so that they can meet them where they are and provide experiences that are meaningful and comforting. It is not an easy thing to watch your parent go through this season of life. There are so many fears and so much uncertainty….but I can truly say that they strive to meet US as her family where we are as well and they are now a part of our village. I would not want anyone else caring for our mom.
