What an amazing place. It’s a newer building (3 years) and truly beautiful. The actual apartments, the building… the pool…. The grounds, the theater…..Just gorgeous. They have a bar, with a happy hour, and music, even a singer in some nights.My Dad moved in to the independent living building a month ago and we are so pleased with the excellence of this whole place.People have been truly friendly and welcoming to my Dad…Then the staff. We love the staff… I could go on and on about them. Everyone who interacts with my Dad (and us) is respectful, kind, fun, and really personable. Angela who is the concierge in reception and is wonderful;Deb and Michael who toured us and helped my Dad decide to make the choice to move to independent living are just stellar! Always there to check in, see how he’s doing. Bethany (resident services) is also very available to help as needed and is really a gem!Nicole the director was great and did the actual moving in paperwork,, the entire maintenance team and housekeeping have been so responsive, and the food…..!OMG the food! John is their premier chef who creates magic at every meal. Then…Sunday brunch! Fabulous! My Dad raves about it. We joined him for their Thanksgiving brunch and it was just brilliant. I tell my dad that I’m jealous of how he can pop down to the dining room and get amazing meals daily. We’re really happy he’s found his “home” At Discovery village.

I have been visiting Discovery Village at Sarasota Bay for the last 2.5 years as a home health representative, and during that time, I’ve witnessed firsthand the care, compassion, and dedication that the staff puts into supporting the residents. After seeing how wonderful this community is, I made the decision to join the team, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice!The sense of community here is truly special. The residents are treated with the utmost respect and dignity, and it's clear that everyone, from the management to the staff, is committed to enhancing the lives of those who live here. The team works hard to create a positive, enriching environment, and it’s rewarding to be part of such a caring and dedicated group of professionals.I’m proud to be a part of this incredible community, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a safe, supportive, and welcoming place for their loved ones.

I’m lived here for over a year and love everything about the Discovery Living Community at Sarasota Bay!! The residents are fun-loving and care about each other— always welcoming new residents. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. And the daily activities are numerous within the building offering a variety of choices. Also, many outside trips are scheduled to restaurants, stores, and local events. Three meals daily provide nutritious and delicious meals offered in our beautiful dining areas where residents socialize while dining. It’s a happy place to live🤗Now I’m starting my second year at DVIL. Our caring and capable staff just brought us through Hurricane Helene with a special legal privilege not to evacuate although we were in Zone A. We never lost power and felt safe and secure with generators available in crucial areas of the building.I continue to feel at home and never regretted moving here. The staff all remain caring and the residents are happy as we all enjoy everyday life full of varied activities to keep us busy. 🤗

Friendly and competent staff and services, coupled with outstanding ambience and a multitude of activities. As impressively, apart from the daily quality of life the residents have been accustomed to at Discovery, the extraordinary level of performance and selfless lengths management and staff exhibited almost flawlessly through the recent hurricane was nothing short of remarkable.

My sister, Sharon, has called Discovery Village IL her home for 17 months. She recently moved across the hall to a smaller apartment. Nicole and her team paved the way for a seamless move responding timely to all requests. Special thanks to HENRY for his kindness and assistance in getting everything done in her new apartment! My family and friends and I LOVE Discovery Village at Sarasota Bay! I wasn’t sure I would ever see my family member smile again after the death of her spouse and she is beaming at DVSB! I’ve never seen her have more friends or more support. From the director to every staff member who goes the extra mile, this place hums like a well-oiled machine and the residents are happy and vibrant. I’m impressed (and I’m a perfectionist)! I had an opportunity to stay here during storm issues and see the community run from a residents perspective. Management has done an amazing job putting together a great staff who are attentive to the residents, and they are not afraid to tell you. All of this in an almost new beautifully laid out property.

Cruise ship without water, resort with the highest rating or an independent living facility. DISCOVERY VILLAGE is all 3 of these. Come before you actually need to, please.You will not be disappointed with the food, hospitality, amenities, apartments or common areas for fun and games. Delivery of your medications, M.D calling on you. Beauty salon, gym and so many more needs being met by staff. Transportation, gourmet dining with new friends and staff. It's all positive at DISCOVERY VILLAGE.

Always a vibrant and fun atmosphere to be in! Every time I’ve visited I’ve experienced a warm welcome and been greeted with smiling faces. I’ve gotten to know many of the residents through my interactions as a local real estate broker and team trivia host at the community, and would not only be thrilled to have my family members there, but would not hesitate to become a resident myself if I were looking at Independent Living communities with leasing options. Definitely one to check out if you’re considering the move to an exciting senior living community along the Gulf Coast! I’m only 59yo when I moved here in February. The tour that was given to me was so impressive that it only took one visit, and I was signing the lease. I never thought I’d find friends here, but boy was I wrong. Within about 2 months everyone knows your name; everyone is exceptionally friendly. The staff is like the kind you’d find at a model viewing. Our staff is the BEST you’ll find anywhere.Thanks DV…I look forward to many, many years to come.

What an amazing place for my Dad to call home. Discovery Village at Sarasota is absolutely lovely, and my Dad is so happy... which, of course, makes us so happy. This week I had the opportunity to visit and tour the facilities and I must say I am very impressed. The staff is amazing, the amenities are like a Country Club and I couldn't be happier seeing my Dad enjoy life with his new friends. I highly recommend The Discovery for anyone looking for independent living for a loved one with an active senior lifestyle. Thank you for taking such great care of my Father.

Discovery was highly recommended by several friends - one who works in the elder care industry locally and a family who moved their loved one from another facility. Michael Parker picked the perfect room for dad. Nicole Bosco is the director there who brought a new level of excellence. Her staff, including Bethany Sanders is outstanding. After about 18 months I had to move dad from the independent living section to the assisted living section where dad continues under their care. Overseeing the ALF, Donna Satterlund has also been super kind, informative and very helpful. I cannot recommend Discovery at Sarasota Bay highly enough. As a local pastor, I have visited several different facilities, and none have come close to the cleanliness, quality of care, and great staff morale as Discovery offers.

A beautiful, new building that’s been home to us for 9 months. My mother, Sheila Fisher, has been very happy at Discovery Village. She loves her apartment and finds it an easy place to make new friends. She also enjoys the activities on offer and the food has been very good. And she has even gotten younger looking since she moved there! We are all very pleased that she made this move. Long review - it’s a huge decision.Okay, first I need to say I was raised by a woman who made me to vow to NEVER “put her in an old folks home.” Imagine my surprise when I came to Discovery Village to drive a friend’s father Karl to a family gathering and saw his comfortable and private accommodations.In the four years before he died I became a friend and regular visitor to him as he moved from Assisted Living to The Garden Memory Care. I met many staff members, ate many meals, and attended events throughout the year with him.When Discovery Village began building Independent Living on adjacent property, my mother-in-law Sheila put her deposit down for an apartment site unseen based on what I told her of my experience. She moved in as one of the first handful of residents and has been hair from the get go.We are fortunate that Sheila is a short distance for us to visit whenever and for whatever the reason. But more importantly she is able to live the lifestyle she’s accustomed to and frankly better than we could have provided.She's able to socialize without staircases and the snow and ice of New York which I think is the biggest benefit moving here.. She’s happy with the meals, loves the friends that she’s made, and enjoys watching the Osprey’s in their high nest from her window.This is no old folk’s home we are relieved and grateful
