My now 92 year old widowed father has been living at Discovery Village at Deerwood since early July 2023. Quite discerning and not always an easy person to please, he is quite comfortable, content, and appreciative of the accommodations within the community.From my side, what I’ve found remarkable is the overall spirit, professionalism, warmth, empathy, openness, flexibility, and dedication of the staff, from top down and bottom up, including the room servers, nurses and assistants, wait staff, culinary servicers, activities and entertainment staff, faculties personnel, and management, all who work well with residents and one another, a good number who, along with various of the residents, are inspiring and excellent examples and role models in what they do and have to say.The premises are modern, attractive, upbeat, unpretentious, and welcoming for residents and visitors alike. Issues arise, general or specific, and each is brought to the attention of management and/or staff, is considered in due order and understanding, and a fitting modification is provided.As in any such type of community, it has perhaps had its share of turnover, but from what I’ve seen all of that has come from situational life changes within staff that reflect well on the community, in each case yielding new personnel then gracefully brought into the fold. In other cases staff members return after stints elsewhere expressing there desire to return. Getting to know various members of the staff, as various members of the community, is to add to one’s family.I consider it to be one of the great blessings in my life as that of my father to have discovered Discovery Village as a place for him to be living at this stage of his life. As such, I highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a senior community within its price range or - the bargain it also happens to be relative to many if not most other senior communities - at a somewhat higher price range.

The Family Celebration was above and beyond. Chef and kitchen staff were exemplary, activities staff super friendly. Administration Personnel including some dept.heads, went above all expectations. I feel comfortable that my loved one is cared for by you.Khaled Kamal

My uncle is a resident here . He invited us to join him for the holiday party . It was a perfect opportunity to cheer him up and give him the opportunity to mingle with fellow residents. The party was beyond all of our expectations. The staff was so festive , the food was excellent and plentiful and the music was awesome. Bravo !!

My Dad lived there for 2 years, until he passed. Every single person that works at Discovery Assisted Living truly cares about your loved one. I feel blessed to have had everyone there treat my Dad and myself as family❤️

From the minute we made the first phone call, Discovery Village Assisted Living and all those who work there became a part of our family! They quickly got us moved in and the additional care my mom needed to thrive. She had gone from barely able to walk and interact to being one of the most active members of the community. Every person who has supported us there has been amazing and has exceeded our expectations. We have had experience with other homes and this by far rises to the absolute top. I am open to anyone who has inquiries and am forever grateful to the wonderful people who make up Discovery Village. Thank you for making my mother smile, taking great care of her and giving her family peace of mind and so much more!

Staff is amazing. My grandfather has IBS and they never complain when he has an accident. Anytime I visit they're super friendly and my grandfather says they're like his family, even better than his own! I know he's just kidding but in all honestly, I wouldn't recommend any other place!

My father lived at Discovery Village Memory Care in the loving care of all those who work there until his passing. Our family found much comfort knowing that he was surrounded by people who really care, in a place that is very clean, and with opportunities for involvement in many activities. The nurses, house keeping, directors, etc. were wonderful! We are grateful.

Rona is the pastry chef here and she is amazing!! Everything we have eaten that she has made has been wonderful. In the photo is an example…her homemade chocolate chip cookies. I don’t think you can find any that are better than this!

My father is in memory care at Discovery. As has been mentioned, there have been many changes in administration. Hopefully, that will change. The new executive director is doing a great job. There are many activities available to engage the residents. Caring for dementia patients, is a very difficult job. The CNA’s employed do a great job. They treat the residents as family. There is genuine concern for the residents.The food at Discovery looks very good. MyFather enjoys it.Like any other place, I wish therewere more employees to lighten the workers load. I highly recommend this facility forthose with needed care.

Discovery Villages of Deerwood has changed to the good. The staff is highly attentive and caring. The Chef continues to put out gormee meals very pleasing to all residents. The maintenance ,laundry and housekeeping staff continue to impress the residents with prompt responses and cleanliness It has become a great place to live and relax

My father has been in memory care for about a year at Discovery Village at Deerwood. They went through a lot of staff changes in the course of a year (and we've had our ups and downs), but I am happy to report the new Executive Director and Memory Care Director are excellent. The MC director has recently started implementing monthly family gatherings. They just hosted a "Santa and Hot Coco" event that was adorable. The staff and residents had a blast dancing to Christmas music and meeting Santa. There are also many excellent caregivers that never complain and have a great attitude about their work (which is a very difficult job). It was one of the hardest decisions of my life to place dad in a facility, but I can rest assured that he is safe and well cared for. Thank you Discovery!

After arriving at Discovery, my parents are thriving! Rebecca and Michelle and Lloyd were a tremendous help for me ! They have gone above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect!! I couldn't do this without them!!!! Thank you Discovery!The nurses are very attentive in AL and MC! I love that they feel at home! The cooks and dining room staff are top notch!
